Want to get healthier? Then we want to help!
BARR Credit Services recently partnered with Cigna to launch our own health and wellness program. Because, while we at BARR Credit remain focused on being a leader in our industry, we know that employee well-being is key to our success.
That’s where our Wellness Team comes in. They’ve created an initiative to encourage our staff to become their best possible selves – physically, mentally and emotionally. We know our employees always strive to excel at their jobs. So we want to reward that hard work by providing the tools and opportunities they need to become healthier.
The Wellness Team is currently comprised of four BARR employees with a single vision: To make BARR Credit Services a place where staff members are not only happy with their jobs, but also feel good about themselves. The goal is to encourage a culture of health and help BARR employees to make positive, lasting changes.
Time to Get Moving!
Let’s face it: the prevailing corporate culture tends to be a very sedentary one. And it’s taking a toll on our health:
That’s why the Wellness Team recently initiated its first challenge: “Water and Walking.” Participants are urged to take 5,000 steps and drink a half gallon of water each and every day. (Because the human body is about 70% water, it needs to be continually replenished!)
In addition to employee challenges, the Wellness Team has also planned on-site seminars, with remote call-in capability. These seminars will be facilitated by a designated professional, and will include a variety of health-related topics, such as:
- Work/life balance
- The benefits of walking
- Stress management
- The importance of regular check-ups
