Randy Frazee

Chief Executive Officer

As CEO of BARR Credit Services, Randy directs his expertise towards leadership, strategic planning, and driving company growth – elements crucial to the seamless integration of acquisitions. During Randy’s career he has built BARR Credit Services through the successful acquisition of eight companies.

BARR Credit Services was founded in 1998 by Randy, who has 33-years in the accounts receivable industry. Under Randy’s leadership BARR Credit Services has been recognized as one of the Best Places to Work in Arizonia. BARR Credit has also received the Innovation Through Technology Award, and the Business Growth in Arizona Award.

At the core of Randy’s professional ethos is an appreciation for the people at BARR Credit. Recognizing employees as invaluable assets, Randy’s leadership positively impacts many of the employees and their families. With Randy Frazee at the helm, BARR Credit Services continues its trajectory of success and prominence in the industry.

Randy is also a distinguished representative of the company in various business associations. A member and past president of the International Association of Commercial Collectors (IACC), he earned the coveted IACC Leadership and Distinguished Service Award in 2015, a testament to his unwavering dedication to advancing both the association and the industry.

Jim Bessenbacher

President – Strategic Advisory & Credit Group Services

Jim Bessenbacher is focused on business development and operations to ensure the delivery of top-rate service to BARR Credit Services’ clients. He joined the company, previously known as The Bessenbacher Co., in 1980.

Jim values the opportunity to be in a leadership position, helping to lead and grow a company that started in 1933, having been mentored in the business by his father and grandfather. Today he is helping to position the company for new growth as BARR Credit Services.

From growing up in Kansas City, Missouri, Jim attended two Jesuit colleges at the universities of Regis and Rockhurst, obtaining a degree in Marketing and Management. He is a member of the International Association of Commercial Collectors (IACC) and has served on its national board for ten years, acting as President in 2003 and 2004. In 2012, IACC presented Jim with the Distinguished Service Award. Jim has enjoyed immensely serving the association and helping IACC become the most dynamic industry leader. It is through such experiences Jim reasons they were able to grow the company 200% over a 15-year period.

Jim is married to Mary, and they have seven grown children. In his spare time, Jim enjoys growing tropical plants. “Growing bananas in Kansas City is a lot of fun and prompts a lot of conversation.”

Steve Bessenbacher

Executive Vice President Quality Assurance

Steve Bessenbacher works on developing finance operations solutions to provide BARR Credit Services clients with quality data for better decision-making. He has 25 years of experience in the commercial credit industry.

From the day Steve was hired into the family business, he was excited to be part of something his grandfather started. “I’m proud to say that we continue to serve many of the same clients my grandfather and father established years ago.  We are very proud of our work in the Animal Health Industry through collections and ICE that spans over 40 years.”

Steve grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, and attended Rockhurst University, earning a B.A. in Philosophy. He is married and has three children. He enjoys spending time in the mountains of Colorado.

Steve enjoys working as a leader at BARR Credit Services because of the people. “We have all come together as a team with one common goal in mind: to provide the finest commercial collection services to our clients.”

George Kern

Chief Operations Officer

George Kern works on operations management and key performance measures, always trying to exceed BARR Credit Services’ clients’ expectations.

George has worked in the collections business for more than 30 years, one-third of that time in a leadership position with BARR Credit Services. “In my time here I have witnessed the company grow from its early years of a few employees to what it is today, close to 100 employees. In that same period of time, we have become a leader in the industry, not only in what we return to our clients but also by staying ahead of trends.”

Originally from Long Island, New York, George has had the good fortune to live in several locations across the United States and Europe. He served six years in the United States Air Force as a Security Specialist. He is father to three sons and one daughter.

For George, the best part of working at BARR Credit Services is the people, their successes, and the culture that has been a part of company since the beginning.

Angela Prieto Frazee

Angela Prieto Frazee

Chief Strategic Administration Officer

Angela is responsible for project management and information technology at BARR Credit Services. She ensures optimal data migration and integration of mergers and acquisitions. Angela has more than 20 years of experience in operations management; she also manages acquisitions and mergers.

In the years that Angela has been part of the leadership of BARR Credit Services, she has added significant value to the company. Her previous corporate experience included Project Management for major domestic and international cost-reduction programs for IBM and 3M.  She has also been the owner of several businesses.

Born in El Paso, Texas, Angela attended the University of Arizona where she earned a B.S. in Chemistry. She is a mother to two grown children. In her spare time, Angela enjoys soccer, basketball, and travel. “I enjoy traveling and have had the opportunity to travel to Africa and Brazil for the Soccer World Cup with my children. Wonderful memories.”

For Angela, the best part about working at BARR Credit Services is the people. “I have worked 20+ years in the corporate world, but I have never worked for a company where the employees will take a bullet for their employer. Randy and John have developed a great management team and sustained a family atmosphere.”
