Two BARR Credit Services employees are recipients of the 2017 Doing the Most Good Award, presented by the Tucson branch of The Salvation Army.
Randy Frazee, BARR Credit CEO, and Tim Grimes, Legal Liaison, received the award in recognition of their continuous years of service to the charitable organization. Frazee has been an active supporter and volunteer for 20 years, and Grimes has been involved for 18 years.
Active on Many Levels
- Preparation of food for all holiday meals
- Coordinating Christmas toy drives, and
- Organizing a back-to-school clothing and school supplies drive for needy children
But the two also facilitate the delivery of meals and flowers to shut-ins, and regularly prepare food for residents of homeless shelters.
For the past four years, Frazee has served on the advisory board for The Salvation Army Tucson. He currently acts as the board’s Vice Chair. Three years ago, he received the organization’s Outstanding Individual Service Award.
“I am truly honored and humbled to have received this recognition,” Frazee said. He added, “Though I may be blessing others, I believe I am the most blessed of all.”
BARR Credit staff members are encouraged to become involved in activities that support the Tucson community. As a result, many BARR Credit Services’ employees donate resources, money and time to helping The Salvation Army “Do the Most Good.”
About the Award
The Doing the Most Good Award is presented annually to individuals who have demonstrated a lifetime commitment to The Salvation Army. Recipients are recognized for their willingness to give without seeking any reward.
The name of the award is taken from a quote by Evangeline Booth, the first woman to hold the post of Salvation Army General:
“There is no reward equal to that of doing the most good to the most people in the most need.”
Booth was the organization’s fourth General, and she served from 1935 to 1939.
